Welcome to BCIYF!

Thank you for valuing your education in the Tanakh (Old Testament) and the Brit HaHadesha (New Testament) and choosing to spend some of your study time with us!

What is Be Confident in Your Faith?

My name is Jennifer and I’ve been searching for many years after HaShem (The Name, another way to say G-d with respect). I am a Christian and fellow lover and G-d Fearer, and like most people I desire to please HaShem through the learning and the doing of the teachings of Israel.

The small Bible Study.

A couple of years before Covid hit, I wanted to help my old neighbor Ms. Sherrill by studying the Bible with her. We both had since moved to different locations and we kept in contact. Ms. Sherrill developed glaucoma and couldn’t get to church on Sundays.

We ended up studying the Bible together using the verse by verse method every Friday night via phone.

This became my passion and then my Mom joined along to study Friday nights bringing our little group to three.

Small Bible study to BCIYF as a serious online studying group.

During Covid I wanted to continue to pursue this passion of the Bible and start an online studying group. I was able to create a very small income from the formal online study classes that I held. My goal was to teach the Bible verse by verse from an Engineering perspective (Engineering is my background and profession), with intention and precision.

My mother Iris was a big help in this venture and referred many of her friends from work and BCIYF grew from our 3 person group to sometimes 10 people. Still small, but very meaningful in both learnings and community.

BCIYF Paused.

My Mother saw fit to send me for additional schooling in Judaism so that my teaching could become more well rounded. She sent me to Yeshivat Shuvu led by Rav Itzhak Shapiro and there was taught mainly by Rav Steven Bernstein.

I put BCIYF Bible study groups on pause. I had never experienced the Bible like this - from a Jewish perspective: in Hebrew, in Aramaic, while performing Mitzvot (commandments) and actually observing the holidays.

The Bible, the Torah - it is now all in living color!

Let’s bring it to current.

We teach and study the basics of the Torah, Prophets, the Writings (Old Testament) and the Brit HaHadesha (New Testament) from the Jewish perspective.

We are not to be viewed as a substitute for learning directly from Israel and its Rabbis. We are merely a stepping stone to help assist you on your way to learning with Israel and its wonderful Sages and Rabbis.

As a Non-Jew, it can be difficult navigating the language and culture of Israel alone, so let’s study together and discover the basics all while in fellowship.

Many hardships have occurred after entering Yeshivat Shuvu from the passing of my #1 Cheerleader, my Mother Iris Roque z’l, and also Rav Bernstein z’l, my teacher. but in their memories BCIYF is back online and ready to go.

You’ll see our offerings for our online studies, in-person studies and of course our studies on YouTube, all of which are from the Jewish perspective.

Let’s Go!
